📌 Possessives: "sua" vs. "dela/dele"
In Brazilian Portuguese, possessives can be expressed two ways. Sua/seu can be ambiguous (your? his? her?), so Brazilians often prefer dela/dele (literally "of her/of him") for clarity:

Notice the dialogue uses both: "sua irmã" (clear — talking to Paulo) and "o irmão dela" (avoids ambiguity about whose brother).
📌 Describing people with SER + adjective
Adjectives in Portuguese agree in gender and number with the noun:

🗣️ Ponto fonológico — "Nossa!": Short for Nossa Senhora! (Our Lady!), this is one of Brazil's most versatile exclamations — surprise, admiration, disbelief. Stress falls on the first syllable: NOS-sa. The double "s" gives it a soft hissing sound, nothing like the English "z" in "his." Practice: Nossa! Nossa! Nossa!
😄 Elogios no Brasil: Brazilians are generally warm and direct with compliments — saying someone is linda/lindo is natural and not considered forward. The expression "Você acha?" (You think so? / Really?) is a classic way to express pleasant surprise or fish for more compliments. And "Só eu!" (It's just me! / Only me!) is a punchline structure used for humorous self-reference — very Brazilian in its playful self-confidence.
