Read the dialogue

A woman asks her partner the classic tricky question about how she looks in a dress.

A: Ô João, você acha que eu estou gorda nesse vestido?

Hey João, do you think I look fat in this dress?

B: Meu amor, você sabe que é impossível responder uma pergunta dessas, né?

My love, you know that it's impossible to answer such a question, right?

A: Não João, é fácil, fala honestamente, estou gorda ou não estou?

No João, it's easy, tell me honestly, do I look fat or not?

B: Nesse caso, não, você não está gorda nessa roupa.

In that case, no, you don't look fat in those clothes.

A: Mas você nem olhou pra mim.

But you didn't even look at me.

B: Claro que não, e nem preciso olhar, você não está gorda nessa roupa, está linda.

Of course not, and I don't even need to look, you are not fat in that dress, you are beautiful.

A: Tá. Acho que o azul vai ser melhor.
