Que Beleza

Tim Maia · "Imunização Racional (Que Beleza)," from the album Racional Vol. 1, 1975

Tim Maia is one of the greatest singers in Brazilian music — a pioneer in blending soul, funk, and MPB with a completely unique voice. In the 1970s, he went through a deeply personal and spiritual phase in his life and recorded two albums called "Racional," full of messages about self-knowledge and optimism. "Que Beleza" is one of the most joyful songs from that period: it's about the simple beauty of living, feeling, and knowing yourself.

🎤 Tim Maia — Pioneer of Brazilian Soul Music
Tim Maia (1942–1998) was one of the most influential artists in Brazilian popular music, known for his powerful voice and for bringing American soul and funk to Brazil, blended with samba and MPB. His career is full of classics that are still played on the radio and at parties across the country today.
✨ The "Racional" Phase
In the mid-1970s, Tim Maia became involved with a spiritual movement called Cultura Racional and recorded two albums — known as "Racional Vol. 1" and "Racional Vol. 2" — with lyrics about self-knowledge, optimism, and personal transformation. Although he distanced himself from the movement shortly after, these albums are now considered masterpieces of Brazilian soul music, and "Que Beleza" is one of the most celebrated songs from that period.
