The relative pronoun QUE in Brazilian Portuguese
In English, we use words like "who," "that," or "which" to connect two ideas about the same person or thing. In Portuguese, the most common word is QUE — used for people, objects, and places.
QUE recovers a noun already mentioned and connects it to a new idea — letting you say more in one sentence instead of two:
Eu li um livro. + Esse livro era interessante.
= Eu li um livro QUE era interessante.
